All Katy Service here with some information to help you figure out what might be causing problems with your electric flat cooktop.
Electric flat cooktops have a ceramic glass top with the burners lying underneath and heating via electricity. Some people have expressed problems with their electric flattop stove, and so we want to help you figure out whether or not you have a problem with your stove top.
When your entire cooktop isn’t heating, there are some things you can check to see if the cooktop is actually broken or just isn’t receiving power.
First of all, electric stoves usually plug into a power outlet. The first thing you should do when your cooktop isn’t working is make sure your entire range is plugged in.
If you find that it isn’t plugged in, plug it in and see if it works. If it doesn’t work, keep reading.
The second way to check that power is being sent to your stove is to take a look at your breaker box and make sure that you haven’t blown a fuse. If your breaker is on and no fuse is blown, you should give us a call or check out our stove top repair page on our website.
One challenge with electric flattop stoves is uneven heating of food.
Most times, uneven heating just occurs from using the wrong type of pan. We’ve even had pans with uneven bottoms and as a result couldn’t get an even cook on our food. Since a flattop is flat, the pots or pans you cook in need to be perfectly flat as well so they get even heat exposure on your stove top.
If you’ve tried to remedy the problems your having with your cooktop and none of them have worked, All Katy Service can help!
